Coles Express Service Station – Waterford Tamborine Road, Logan Village


A change to a development application has been approved for a Coles Express Service Station, located at 1322-1330 and 1332-1346 Waterford Tamborine Road, Logan Village.

Designed by TRG, the approved development provides a Service Station with a maximum building height of 1 storey (5.6m in height). The service station will be positioned to the south-west corner of the site with the canopy to the south-east and car parking positioned along the western boundary.

The site is within the Rural Residential zone and has road frontage to Waterford – Tamborine Road. The existing dwelling and structures will be removed to facilitate the proposed redevelopment.

Twenty one (21) car parking spaces (one (1) PWD spaces), a dedicated air/water car space and eight (8) fuel pump spaces are provided. The development provided two access locations via an internal manoeuvring area.

The proposal seeks a vehicle exit only access to Waterford-Tamborine Road and all movements vehicle access to a shared driveway that will create a new industrial cross over to Waterford-Tamborine Road

The planners at HPC Urban Design + Planning state, This change application seeks approval for the removal of the drive-through associated with the ancillary food and drink outlet component of the development. There is no change proposed to the location of the service station building, fuel dispensing area, access and manoevring areas, or car parking provision. The removal of the drive-through will not dramatically change the built form of the development, which retains the appearance of a typical service station”.

The proposal is for 300sqm of gross floor area (GFA) on the 6,564sqm site.
