Township Residential Precinct – Trentham Place, Samford Village


A development application has been lodged for a preliminary approval, for the variation of the existing rural residential land zoning, located over 6 individual land holdings at 3, 6, 11, 12 and 16 Trentham Place and 2 Corbett Street, Samford Village.

Designed by Wolter Consulting, the proposal seeks to vary the current zoning of the Moreton Bay Planning Scheme and allow the land to be for the purposes allowed under Township zone (Township residential precinct).

The proposal seeks to redevelop the existing 6 allotments currently containing residential dwellings and ancillary structures into residential urban area integrated within the proposed structure plan. The proposal will include a new loop road and utilise the existing local road infrastructure.

The proposal outlines that the 4.6ha site is anticipated to provide for approximately 25 lots in total (14-19 new lots) and retaining the majority of existing dwelling houses.

The planners at Wolter Consulting state, “The conversion of the site from Rural residential to the Township residential precinct will allow for a more efficient use of land where between the school and the centre, within easy walking distance to physical and social infrastructure within Samford Village and adjoined to the north and east by the Township zone”.

 “The Township zone will better align with the density and dwellings types of existing nearby residential development and facilitate the establishment of a distinct character which is appropriately contained. This conversion will increase the availability of high-value land within the Village, without encroaching beyond the school, to areas of a more rural nature”.
