A development application has been lodged for the Extensions (Classroom Building) to an existing Educational Establishment of St John’s Anglican College, located at 55 College Avenue, Forest Lake




 

Designed by BSPN Architecture, the proposal is for the extension of the existing sports hall to provide classrooms and staffing needs for the existing school. The building roof, height and position will be retained the existing, though the bulk and scale of the sports hall will be extended by removing the sides of the structure on the first floor. The ground floor courts and surrounding area will be totally removed to facilitate the proposal.

The planners at Bartley Burns state, the proposal presents a generally compliant outcome for the site. The proposal will not cause any significant impact on the surrounding area, instead providing for a positive, functional development which will satisfy the needs of the St Johns Anglican College school community”.

The proposal includes an additional 1,025sqm of gross floor area (GFA) over the existing school on the 97,860sqm site.
