A development application has been lodged for Corbett & Claude to obtain approval for a Restaurant and Laneway, located at Everton Plaza Shopping Centre, located at 807 Stafford Road, Everton Park.
Designed by Marsden Collective, the proposal is for the refurbishment of the former Commonwealth Bank tenancy and redesign the 2 storey building to establish a new food and drink outlet. Additionally, the proposal will create a new thoroughfare from Stafford Road to the recently proposed rear retail plaza known as Park Lane, which seeks to create a vibrant and pedestrian friendly Dining Precinct.
The proposed contemporary food and drink outlet involves internal refurbishments, high quality finishes and an enhanced public realm along the highly active frontage. The laneway and rooftop bar will create outdoor dining areas. The interior will be updated to a modern restaurant, with improved style and design layout.
The proposed development does not increase the amount of gross floor, with the publicly accessible pedestrian arcade reducing the ground floor size to create a thoroughfare to the centre of the shopping centre.

According to the planners at Urbis, “the proposed design will deliver a contemporary food and drink outlet, with high quality finishes, that activate and enhance the public realm. This represents an improvement to the present built form at the site, which is currently characterised by a building with glazing and access only to the southern frontage at ground level”.
The proposal is for 443sqm of GFA (reduction in 102.1sqm) on the 607sqm site, within the 16,290sqm shopping centre site.
