The planners at Mewing Planning Consultants state “the development is proposed under the ‘build-to-rent’ model, with all units to be held in single ownership. The intent is to cater for a range of residential occupants who are seeking a lower-than-market rental levels, in highly accessible locations with the option for both short- and long-term leasing options”.
“In order to achieve this accommodation model, and because the ‘build-to-rent’ concept is relatively new and there is no clear single definition under the City Plan which accurately captures the proposed operation, a combination of the Multiple Dwelling and Short-term Accommodation uses is proposed”.
The proposal includes 1,010sqm (94%) site cover over the 1,077sqm development site.
