New State Primary School – Inner West Suburb, Brisbane
The Queensland State Government has announced that is committed to providing quality education facilities in growing communities and creating jobs, by announcing a $346 million education package including building four (4) new state schools. One of the new schools is a Inner West State Primary School, located in Brisbane.

Chapel Hill

Taringa
The Department of Education have explained on their website that a new primary school is set to be open in 2023 to relieve enrolment pressures at local schools in Brisbane’s inner western suburbs. It it has not been made public of what location or suburb will be chosen to place the school, there are a handful of suburbs that have felt the need to have one to relieve pressure on existing school capacity.
The aim of the new school is to provide long term enrolment capacity in the school network and reduce the enrolment demand that is occurring in this area. The new school will be provide with general learning areas, specialist spaces, multimedia spaces, special education facilities and outdoor learning areas.
Community consultation will be undertaken on the proposed master plan for the school, school design and integration within the local schooling network.

Indooroopilly
Annastacia Palaszczuk, Premier of Queensland outlined that the new schools were being delivered in some of the fastest growing regions in Queensland and to continue creating jobs as part of our economic recovery in response to the effects of Covid 19.
“My Government is planning for the future and responding to the growth that we are expecting in these regions”.
“We are all more than aware that the global economic headwinds are pointing toward unprecedented difficult times in the wake the global COVID-19 pandemic”.
“Queensland’s plan for economic recovery begins with job creation and in the education space we’re more than pulling our weight, delivering another five new state schools in 2021 on top of the eight that were opened this year”.
“These 2022 schools will ensure the pipeline of work on these construction projects can continue.” the Premier said.

Toowong
Grace Grace, Education Minister outlined that $346 million has been allocated to the Building Future Schools Fund to build these new schools, upgrade existing schools and plan for more future schools.
“We’ve also allocated $65 million of funding for a new primary school to be built in Brisbane’s booming inner west suburbs to be opened by 2023.
“We can now begin an extensive community consultation process to find the best location that will benefit the local community”, Minister Grace said..
Project Timeframe
– Caloundra South for the 2022 school year
– North Maclean (Greenbank) for the 2022 school year
– Coomera (Special School) for the 2022 school year
– Brisbane (Inner West) for the 2023 school year.
