Hospital Demolition – Mater Hospital Campus, South Brisbane
A development application has been lodged for the demolition of the Duncombe Building within the Mater Hospital campus, located at 39 Annerley Road, South Brisbane.
The plans prepared by Conrad Gargett outlined that a large portion buildings of along the site along western boundary will be removed to make way for the new hospital buildings in accordance with Mater Hospital Master Plan that will guide the redevelopment across the site.
The proposal identifies a number of buildings requiring demolition including the Duncombe building, which is necessary to accommodate a new Clinical Services Building and Emergency Department.

The planners at Urbis state, “Mater intends to be at the forefront of this change, which means they must leverage their unique capabilities across health, education and research to better connect with consumers, improve general health and wellbeing and continue to provide exceptional care for patients. Mater has prepared a Master Plan”.
