The development application has been lodged for the ‘Driving Wheels Homestead RV & Camping Park’, located at 2-44 The Abbey Place,
Caboolture, Queensland.

Designed by Greenedge Design, the proposal seeks a family holiday resort that provides 173 short term accommodation sites, in the form of caravan, glamping, cabins and ensuite sites over the 10.52ha site.

A number of recreational facilities, existing natural features, open space, amenities and recreation facilities will be provide surrounded by retained vegetation and dams. The proposed new area of the resort will be connected to the existing facilities by pedestrian link pathways and internal roadway connections.

Proposed Vision
“Driving Wheels Homestead RV & Camping Park will provide a unique style of tourist and visitor accommodation with recreational facilities, taking advantage of, and enhancing the existing natural features of the site and complementing them with innovative and intuitive landscaping, building, and activity assets”.

“The Park offers recreation and nature experiences with a multitude of activities. These include: mountain biking, walking trails, fishing, bike pump track, climbing and abseiling, swimming and water play, children’s fig tree playground and nature play spaces.

“Adventures start at The Park. It’s base camp for connection with this fantastic Moreton Bay Region. East to Pumicestone Passage fishing, creeks and watersports, further east to Bribie ‘surfside’, deserted beaches, or South into the Bay. West to the sensational hinterland, D’Aguilar Ranges, Steve
Irwin Way and the Glasshouse Mountains”.

173 car park spaces proposed to be provided with vehicle access provided to a private road extending from The Abby Place rorad. Pedestrian access is retained within the Family Holiday Resort and throughout the overall site.

The planners at ADAPT, state “Driving Wheels Homestead RV & Camping Park will provide a unique style of tourist and visitor accommodation with recreational facilities, taking advantage of, and enhancing the existing natural features of the site and complementing them with i nnovative and i ntuitive l andscaping, building, and activity assets”.

“The Park will be an environmental park full of natural and constructed features designed to provide a variety of short-term accommodation options for visitors to the Pumicestone and Moreton Bay Region. These accommodations will be complemented by numerous service and recreational facilities”
