High Wire Park Opens – Big Pineapple, Sunshine Coast

The Queensland State Government has announced that Australia’s largest high wire park, built specifically for junior adventurers, has opened at the Big Pineapple on the Sunshine Coast.

Rob Skelton, Member for Nicklin outlined that the State Government had supported the TreeTop Challenge Junior Adventure Park and provided  $500,000 from the Growing Tourism Infrastructure Fund. 

“TreeTop Challenge Junior Adventure Park is a great addition to the Sunshine Coast’s growing line up visitor attractions”.

“The Sunshine Coast has always been a family-friendly destination with a relaxed holiday lifestyle and outdoor experiences that everybody can enjoy”.

“With more than 50 adventures to keep pint-sized explorers and their families engaged and entertained, they will want to return again and again”.

“TreeTop Challenge Junior Adventure Park has potential to encourage another 15,000 visitors to explore the Sunshine Coast”.

“That’s why the Palaszczuk Government has backed this innovative project,” Mr Skelton said.



Adventure Park Details
– 1.2 hectares of rainforest
– Open from 9am to 5pm daily
– located at the Big Pineapple
– Highest and largest adventure park in Australia
– 120 challenges
– 12 flying foxes(ziplines), stretching between 20 and 140m
– Heights for everybody from 3m to 35m off the ground!
– 6 courses to tackle, from easy to Black Diamond extreme
– Suspended amongst 10 acres of stunning rainforest

Stirling Hinchliffe, Tourism Minister officially opened the park

“TreeTop Challenge Junior will be a big hit with young families”.

“Fresh attractions like this are part of the Palaszczuk Government’s commitment to helping tourism rebuild better for the future”.

“Our Growing Tourism Infrastructure Fund backs tourism operators to develop new visitor experiences to boost domestic tourism and be ready for the return of international tourists”.

“TreeTop Junior complements the existing adventure park to create a one-stop experience for adventurers of all ages and abilities”.       

“It supported five jobs during construction and is set to contribute more than $1 million a year to our economic recovery plan for the Sunshine Coast”.

“After a cracking Easter, the Sunshine Coast continues to do well as a weekend escape destination with airport traffic up by 12 per cent and accommodation providers reporting strong occupancy”.

“TreeTop Challenge Junior is one of three new attractions to share in $1.85 million in Palaszczuk Government support to bring more families to the Sunshine Coast for a great holiday experience,” Mr Hinchliffe said.

David Taylor, General Manager outlined how thrilled he was with the latest venture, a huge adventure park for children up to 10 years old, with challenges they probably hadn’t experienced before.

“Thanks to Queensland Government support, we’ve not only come through last year’s COVID-related problems but created a truly unique and exciting adventure experience that families will love’.

“It will be a hit with Sunshine Coast residents and visitors alike,” Mr Taylor said.
