A development application has been lodged for Brisbane Catholic Education for a new Primary School, located 67-87 Halletts Road Redbank Plains.
Designed by Gibson Architects, the proposal is for Community Use (School) constructed over eight (8) stages and anticipated to support 780 students in total. The buildings are arranged in a fanned out layout, separated by open space that lead to the central sports oval. The buildings will have a maximum height of 2 stories (9.7m) and a similar style of design.

The school proposes 121 parking spaces over two (2) car parking areas located in the east and south-west of the school grounds. The eastern car park is accessed from the cul-de-sac end of Moore Street and will provide 44 staff car parking and refuse collection.
The south-west car park is accessed from Halletts Road, with 3 exits separately located along the school frontage. 77 car parking spaces, drop off / pick up and bus stop are provide in what is considered the school main access. Halletts Road is proposed to be widened with kerb, verge and footpaths provided along the school frontage.
The planners at Wolter Consulting Group, state that, “Buildings onsite are provided with a progressive architectural appearance and treated with a range of design elements including appropriate articulation, awnings and large windows to enhance the functionality and appearance of the development. Exercise and recreational open spaces are provided across the site to ensure a range of open space is provided which caters for a range of age groups. Classrooms and supporting buildings are orientated around the focal point of the large oval and located conveniently to onsite car parking”.
The proposal is for 6,075sqm of GFA, with 8,240sqm (25%) of site cover over the 3.28 ha subject site.
