A other change development application has been lodged to accommodate a Guzman Y Gomez Restaurant with drive through, located within the Morayfield Super Centre.

Designed by i2C, the proposal seeks to remove fourteen (14) car parking spaces within the existing shopping centre fronting Morayfield Road provide a freestanding Guzman Y Gomez Restaurant with a drive through.

The redevelopment retains the majority of the existing shopping centre form and balance car spaces throughout the subject site.



The planners at Urbis state that, “the built form visible from Morayfield Road will be attractive and visually engaging through use of materials, signage, decorative elements, colour and articulation. The proposed development represents an improvement on the current view of existing at-grade car parking visible from Morayfield Road”.

“The proposal is consistent with other approved GYG restaurants across the Moreton Bay region, with a contemporary style of architecture that minimises blank walls, incorporates eye-catching artwork relating to the restaurant branding and suitably screens the less attractive components of the development, including refuse and loading areas, car parking, and the drive-through facility”.

“the combination of substantially increased landscaping, level difference and retaining walls between Morayfield Road and the proposed GYG will help to screen and buffer the drive-through component of the development from the streetscape”.

The proposal adds 193sqm of gross floor area on the 7.9ha site
