A development application has been lodged for a Guzman Y Gomez Restaurant with drive through, located at 2049 Logan Road, Upper Mount Gravatt.

Demolition Plan

Designed by 77 Architecture, the proposal seeks a stand alone Food and Drink Outlet oriented towards Logan Road and Shopping Centre site access. The new freestanding building will extablish a Guzman Y Gomez Restaurant with drive through over the existing shopping centre car parking area.

The proposed building is in proximity to other food outlets, shopping centre buildings and a retained pedestrian connection from Logan Road to the shopping centre entertainment and lifestyle precinct’s north-east entry.

The redevelopment will remove existing car parking hardstand area to facilitate the proposal.

The planners at Sinclair Planning state that, “The proposed Food and Drink Outlet buildings have been designed specifically to accommodate convenience food outlet in store dining and drive-through facilities. The development site is triangular in shape and the orientation of the buildings is balanced with required carpark and vehicle circulation outcomes”

“The buildings include active frontages to the carpark; however, their orientation is such that there are view lines from both Logan and Kessels Roads to the building entrances and outdoor seating areas. The provided Alternative Outcome demonstrates that the proposed development complies with the corresponding Performance Outcomes. The proposed development achieves compliance with all applicable Performance Outcomes and therefore the Purpose and Overall Outcomes of the code”.

The proposal adds 223sqm of gross floor area on the 23.85ha site.
