$3 Million Fire Station – Pimpama, Gold Coast

The Queensland State Government has announced that Construction is now underway on a multi-million dollar fire station for the northern Gold Coast.

Meaghan Scanlon, Member for Gaven outlined that the station would boost delivery of critical fire and rescue services to the area, which is experiencing significant growth

“Pimpama and surrounding communities such as Coomera and Jacobs Well are expected to account for 20 per cent of the Gold Coast region’s growth over the next 25 years”.

“The new station will enhance Queensland Fire and Emergency Services’ operational capability in the Pimpama area and ensure that our firefighters have the capacity to support the region’s current population and expected growth, well into the future.” Ms Scanlon said.

Craig Crawford, Fire and Emergency Services Minister outlined that firefighters responded to 772 incidents in the Pimpama area in 2018-19.

“This new facility will allow firefighters to continue providing lifesaving services to the people living in and around the area,” “This significant investment by the Queensland Government demonstrates a commitment to the safety and security of people who live here.”

“It will provide firefighters a modern and functional base from which they can continue to deliver the high standard of service their communities rely on. “The community can feel at ease knowing their local emergency services are equipped and ready to respond,” Mr Crawford said.
