New Retail Opens in Everton Plaza, Everton Park

Four new retailers within the for the Everton Park ‘Laneway’ have opened to the public this week in the Neighbourhood Centre redevelopment.

The development application had been lodged for a ‘Dining Precinct’ at Everton Plaza Shopping Centre, located at 791 Stafford Road, Everton Park.

Designed by Marsden Collective, the proposal is for the refurbishment and revitalisation of the retail rear space between the north and south shopping centre buildings to create a ‘Park Lane’. A redesign of the thoroughfare proposes to create a vibrant and pedestrian friendly connection from the shopping centre west.

The ‘Dining Precinct’ involves internal refurbishments improving the aesthetic appeal of the shopping centre. A new indoor / outdoor alfresco dining precinct will provide a modern design that seeks to improve the customer experience. The proposed extension will reduce tenancy 8 size and create a thoroughfare to the centre of the shopping centre entrance.

The proposal will not increase the GFA of the site on the 16,290sqm shopping centre site.

According to the planners at Urbis, “The proposed built form changes will not “dramatically” change the existing built form with respect to scale and bulk. This is best demonstrated in a comparison of the existing and proposed building elevations. Whilst the proposed façade upgrades and tenancy reconfigurations modify the aesthetic presentation of the centre, the scale, bulk and nature of the existing approved built form is not dramatically different to the existing built form. The centre will still appear as a shopping centre made up of two groups of commercial buildings”.
