$2 Billion Master Plan Community – Elliott Heads, Bundaberg

The developer of the Southbeach seaside development in Elliott Heads has announced that Stage 1 of the enormous master planned community is about to commence construction.

While it is reported that new plans have been lodged to Council for a new development permit to reconfigure the first 170 allotments, council’s records do not indicate that the application has been lodged.

The approved development application is for the Master Planning Community over 246 hectares for includes approximately 3200 homes, village centre, shopping centre, both primary and secondary school, healthcare services, retirement home and caravan park, golf course, with scattered parks and rehabilitation of natural water corridors.

Stan La Vin, director of Elliot Heads Estates has worked with the local Manera family who over the last 5 decades consolidated rural farming land around Elliott Heads and in May 2007, Randall Barrington Town Planning lodged the the  master planned community, design prepared by ML Design (now bureau^proberts). Council approved the over arching preliminary approval application in 2013.

“Timing is everything and when we first received approval in 2013 we were adversely affected by the mining crash so decided to slow things down,” 

“The market has certainly picked up since then and young people from all over the country are now looking for an affordable lifestyle to raise their family in a beautiful beachside location, and we offer both”. La Vin said.

Further development permits for elements of the preliminary approval are required, to progress the redevelopment and generally will be under each of the 18 stages of redevelopment. La Vin said outlined that several large-scale home building companies will be required to complete the construction of the new community.

“We’ve been running an early-bird buyer campaign to gauge interest and have been overwhelmed by the response, so now we need to start building.”

“We’re anticipating a real demand for skilled labour as big Coral Coast projects ramp up in tandem with increased mining activity in Queensland.” 

“Council has identified $2.5 billion in upcoming development up and down the local coastline and we’re very proud to be a part of this.”

“It all augers very well for the ongoing economic benefit of the Bundaberg Coral Coast and demand will only accelerate when the word gets out about the wonderful coastal location within an easy walk to the beach.” La Vin said.
