A development application has been lodged for a Child Care Centre, located 100-102 Collins Street, Redland Bay.
Designed by Husband Architects, the proposal is for a Child Care Centre with a maximum building height of 2 storeys (approx. 8.5m in height). The proposal is within the Urban Residential Zone and will remove the existing residential dwelling to facilitate the development.
– 75 Children
– GFA 578sqm
– 2 External Play Areas
– 2 Storey
– Offices, Indoor Spaces
– Store, Kitchen
– Boundary Landscaping
– 2m Acoustic Fence
The proposed child care centre has been designed with an open car park area, providing 23 car park spaces (12 staff spaces and 11 visitor spaces, including one (1) PWD space). Pedestrian and Vehicle propose access to Torquay Road.
The planners at Urbicus state, “Redland Bay is an established, family-oriented community and will benefit from additional childcare infrastructure. In particular, there is a notable shortage of LDC places for children under 2 with waitlists of up to 6 months. An additional service such as the proposed site will benefit the local community by reducing waiting times for local residents”.
The proposal includes 591sqm of GFA, on the 1,531sqm site.
