$176 Million Refurbishment & Expansion – Cairns Convention Centre

The State Government has announced the $176 Million Expansion of the Cairns Convention Centre that will provide more space enabling the centre to cater for multiple functions.

Annastacia Palaszczuk, Premier of Queensland outlined that the project will create new jobs.

“We only get one chance to do this so we’re going to do it right,” the Premier said.



Project Details
– New tropical-themed entrance
– Sky Terrace with views of Trinity Inlet
– Space for 30 exhibitors booths
– Three large meeting rooms (420sqm in total)
– Rooftop floor space and banqueting space.



Project Details
– Work Commencement (Centre closure): May and October 2020
– Work Completion: Early 2022
