A development application has been approved for a Childcare Centre, located 5-7 Bringelly Street, Arana Hills.

Designed by Thomson Adsett, the proposal is for a Child Care Centre with a maximum building height of 2 storey (approximately less than 12m high). The site is within a local General Residential zone and will remove the two dwelling houses to facilitate the proposal.

The proposed child care centre has an open car park, providing 13 car park spaces (one (1) PWD space) and vehicle access to Bringelly Street. The proposal includes pedestrian access to the corner of Patricks Road and Hoxton Street.

The planners at Urbis state, The design of the proposal seeks to orientate the building towards the Patricks Road and Hoxton Street such that it facilitates engagement with the streetscape. The entrance foyer faces the street and is attractively framed by landscaping, which extends across the frontage of the car park to soften the hardstand area”. “Proposed fencing has a dual function in providing acoustic barriers and also providing privacy in certain areas. The proposal also includes building materials of a bright and attractive nature that still appropriate for the residential character of the area, and also ensuring the façade is interesting and appealing”.

The proposal includes 650sqm of gross floor area (GFA) on the 1,429sqm site.
