Azure Development Group latest development application has been lodged for Multiple Dwellings, located 133 Government Road, Richlands.

Designed by Red Door Architecture the proposal seeks to provide fifty (50) x3 bedroom townhouses over two (2) stages. The proposal seeks a low-medium density, with the townhouses arranged in clusters strips between 2-7 dwellings within 4 building groups.  The buildings have maximum building height of 2 storeys (under 9.5m high).

Stage 1 – 29 Dwelling Units, visitor car parks, communal space, new access and internal roads
Stage 2 – 21 Dwelling Units, visitor car parks and internal roads

Each dwelling is provided with private open space in the form of courtyards that have been positioned outwards along the site boundaries or facing internally within the site. Communal space has been provided in stage 1, providing a new swimming pool, sun lounge area and lawn space.

Vehicle access is provided to a Government Road via a private internal road, with pedestrian connections provided to the future park to the rear of the site and Government Road.

According to the planners at Town Planning Alliance, the proposal includes “the proposal presents an attractive design which marries into the existing streetscape of the area. The development adopts a high quality built form outcome that incorporates the use of design elements such as variations in materials, variations in finishes, recesses and screening that articulate the building façade and provide for a high degree of visual appeal.” 

The proposal is for a total site cover of 4,273.9sqm (42.1%) over the 10,152sqm rectangle shaped lot.

Destination Brisbane Consortium (DBC) announced it has secured a deal with retail giant DFS which boasts a portfolio of 750 of the world’s most sought-after brands. 

DFS is part of the Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) Group and will create its largest shopping footprint in Oceania at Queen’s Wharf. 

In total, DFS will create around 6,000m2 of luxury retail floorspace – part of nearly 40,000m2 of retail, food and beverage and entertainment floorspace to be delivered across the Queen’s Wharf precinct. 

DFS’ suite of luxury brands and stores will become fully operational as part of a staged opening of Queen’s Wharf from late 2022.

A concept masterplan has been released with a list of upgrades, buildings and improvements for Ballymore Stadium

The masterplan provides an indicative site redevelopment that will facilitate the $30 million National Rugby Training Centre for high-performance, which will become the centrepiece of the Ballymore elite.

The Brisbane City Council has announced a series of potential transport infrastructure ideas and solution options for community consultation regarding the nine-kilometre North West Transport Corridor strategically preserved.

The ideas have been produced as part of a two-year study to develop a business case to address the transport network issues in the North West of Brisbane.

A change to a development application approval has been lodged for a Commercial Tower and retail, located 458 Wickham Street and Church Street, Fortitude Valley.

Designed by Willemsen, the proposal seeks commercial offices and retail integrated into a fifteen (15) storey tower. 

The proposal seeks to use the currently vacant site (stage 2) to facilitate the proposed development, following demolition of the former PCYC building. The proposal includes a 2 storey podium that provides retail cafe tenancy, co-working area and lobby.

A development application has been lodged for office and retail tenancies, located at 85 James Street and Harcourt, Fortitude Valley.

The proposal seeks to demolish the rear of a pre-1946 dwelling house and raise the frontage and façade to construct new building extensions beneath and behind. The rear of the existing commercial character building will be demolished and will retain the corner single storey component.

The proposal seeks to co-locate food and drink, office and shop land uses together within a range of tenancy sizes on each floor. A new laneway provides access to the new tenancies on the ground floor, with lift access to the floors above

The Brisbane City Council has announced the release of the Draft Precinct Plan for the Graceville Riverside Parklands. The Graceville Riverside Parklands Precinct is situated at the northern-most end of the Oxley Creek corridor that includes a Graceville Riverside Parkland, Simpsons Playground, Nadine Street Park, Graceville Avenue Park and Bert St Clair Oval. 

The Draft Precinct Plan for the Graceville Riverside Parklands is currently within a four week community consultation period and to collect feedback for the vision of the underutilised prime waterfront location. The location has existing community facilities and greenspaces needed to design a dynamic riverside destination.

The State Government has announced the two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) to be used to tunnel Brisbane's Cross River Rail project are ready for when work commences in early 2021.

The State Government has announced that constructions on a new acute mental health inpatient unit at Hervey Bay Hospital will begin in December 2020.

Woollam Constructions were awarded the main construction contract and early works is set to get under way at the site, which is located on Urraween Road and positioned next to the new emergency department.
