$50 Million Upgrade coming to Brookside Shopping Centre

Announced via the Brookside Shopping Centre website, major works are soon to commence in the next phase of the Brookside Shopping Centre upgrades.

Designed by The Buchan Group, the proposed upgrade of the centre’s core will integrate a new revitalised food precinct at the central cross road of the Shopping Centre, transforming the area into a food and meeting precinct for casual dining and communal spaces.

New Improvements
– Façade and entrances upgrades
– Contemporary interiors
– Tenancy alignment
– More floor space
– New lifts and furnishings

Demolition
– Removal of the existing centre stage area
– Filling in around the existing travellator
– Upgrade of the entry foyer around the travellators

The announcements comes after a recent development approval on 21 February 2017 (A004531691) for extensions to the Brookside Shopping Centre, that made way for Target to return.

Brookside management have outlined that prior to Christmas 2017, Target, Cotton ON Mega and Sportsgirl will open. Target will include a new ground floor layout, with the remaining levels set to provide future community services (medical, health, lifestyle, education and business facilities). Mr Russell Shaw (Brookside Manager), states that, “the planning for this $50 million makeover was inspired by the aspirations of our customers whilst still maintaining the convenience and intimacy that Brookside has long established”

“As well as the families in the trade area, the customer base also includes a very loyal older demographic and young, vibrant singles and couples moving into the area. Creating a retail offer and community space that connects and resonates with our customers’ needs and wants will be key in making this a project a success.” Mr Shaw said.

The Shopping Centre will remain open during the construction and refurbishments, reassuring disruption to shoppers and retailers will be miminsed,
