A development application has been approved for a Café and Food Related Activities, located at 264 South Pine Road, Brendale.
Designed by CG Design Studio, the approval is for Food Manufacturing, Commercial Kitchen and Café that will be housed within a refurbished retained building and separated into four (4) tenancies. The approval also includes a new (small) building, to facilitate the drive through facility for the café.

This tenancy fronts South Pine Road and is earmarked as a café or similar food / drink related activities. A new verandah (64sqm) fronting South Pine Road is to be installed.
Tenancy 2 and 3
These commercial food manufacturing tenancies will be for bakery, coffee roasting or drink production. A new dining area (35sqm) located behind Tenancy 2 is to be installed.
This tenancy will be a licenced Commercial Kitchen and able to prepare large volumes of food for offsite use. The kitchen will able to be hired out to a range of users, including the general public who require licenced kitchen for the preparation of food.
Drive Through Facility
This small building is to operate as a standalone coffee outlet associated with Tenancy 1.
The proposal provides landscaped along the road property boundaries (west and north) providing seating areas, open gardens, 10 bike racks, working gardens that provide fruit and vegetables for the development. A pedestrian connections throughout the car park area are provided to the adjoining buildings to the west. A recycled timber Arbour is featured along the pedestrian connection to the south.
A total of 32 car parking spaces (2 PWD) are proposed within the ground floor area, with access provided to an existing driveway that connections to South Pine Road. Truck deliveries will be from southern part of the site.
According to the planners at LandPartners, states “the proposed development seeks to offer surrounding employment area an alternative to the standard Food and Drink Outlets typically found in Industry areas. The proposed development will include a café which will provide healthy and fresh food options to the employees of the Brendale Enterprise and Employment area. The development will use fresh local produce to offer high quality food to its customers.”
The proposal is for 668sqm (12sqm increase) of GFA, including a site cover of 764.5sqm over the 5.733ha subject site.
