A development application has been lodged for a Community Centre, located 214 Ashgrove Avenue, Ashgrove.
Designed by Bosanquet Foley Architects, the proposal is for a Community Centre within an adapted reuse of the Newmarket Bowls Club only, with the outdoor bowling greens not subject of this application). The proposal seeks to reuse the building with no further internal changes proposed.
The planners at The Planning Place state, “the venue is currently leased to Communify Queensland Limited, who run a variety of community services from the old bowls club building. The intended use of the premises as per the lease agreement involves “the management of the facility to enable community functions, workshops and meetings, other community based activities.”

The proposal includes 1,029sqm of GFA, with no change to the existing 609.65sqm (4.35%) site cover on the 14,360sqm site.
