A development application has been lodged for a Childcare Centre, 18 Andrews Street, Cannon Hill.
Designed by Damilvi Architecture, the proposal is for a Child Care Centre with a maximum building height of 2 storeys (approximately 9.5m high). The site is within a Medium Density Residential zone and will remove an existing decommissioned place of worship to facilitate the proposal.
– 120 Children
– GFA 924sqm
– 2x External Play Area (844sqm)
– Boundary Landscaping
– 2m Acoustic Fences
The proposed child care centre has been designed with a ground level open car parking, providing 23 car park spaces (one (1) PWD space). Vehicle and pedestrian access is proposed to Andrew Street.
The planners at Town Planning Alliance state, “the proposal provides a contempered design which is balances functionality with architectural merit. The locality’s zoning within the Medium density residential zone will presumably see the majority of Andrews Street be developed in a stylistically similar fashion to the proposal. Ultimately the proposal will contribute to the current and future streetscape of Andrews Street and provide a quality semi-public space that is attractive and useful”.
The proposal includes 924sqm of GFA, with 974.55sqm (64.2%) site cover over the 1,518sqm site.
